Haley Hawthorne is enjoying her life as an art director at a top greeting card company in busy Manhattan. Yet, she has a spot that feels empty no matter what she does. She knows she did not always feel that way, so she is unsure what to do and uses her faith to put her on the right track.
Aaron Carrier is an old friend from Haley’s hometown; he makes a visit to Manhattan to deliver bad news. Haley’s uncle Nelson, the man who raised her has died. Aaron also is struggling with his feelings and what he sees as a different Haley.
With the many upheavals in Haley’s life in the past few weeks, she is not sure which way to go or who to trust. She keeps trying to make right choices and manages to make a lot of people angry with her. Will she find the true path she is to walk?
This is a sweet read. It is a wonderful story that gives you a chance to reflect your own choices in life, similar to Ms. Andrews’s characters. I did, a few times, feel a bit lost following the path of the story but was quickly able to pull right back on track. A disappointment for me was the outcome for one particular character, but other than that, this was entertaining to read.
