Emma Andrews has a special talent. She is a Dhampir with powers that allow her to see past the glamour of the vampire which allows her to hunt and kill the immortal killers.
Valerian Fox knows that Emma feels as if he has abandoned her. He had good reasons for leaving, but he is back now to help her with the new case she is working.
Sebastian is Emma’s best friend and while some may see him as a frivolous man-about-town, he knows that Emma sees him as who he truly is. He has asked her to help solve the mystery of some people disappearing from a town and the girls’ school that her mother attended years ago.
Emma applies and is accepted as a teacher at the school where the girls have disappeared. Her main objective is to find the vampire responsible for the killings, but she is also hoping to get more clues about the mother she really never knew. She soon finds herself embroiled in a mystery that involves a legend about a dark goddess called the Cyprian Queen, as well as, a mysterious voice that is claiming to be related to her. With the help of Valerian, Sebastian, and Father Luke, Emma must figure out how to stop the ancient evil before it is too late.
I love when I pick up a novel and it surpasses my expectations. That is what Immortal with a Kiss has done for me. This gothic tale is hauntingly beautiful, deceptively deadly, and exquisitely told through the pen of Ms. Lepore. I do want to note that there were times I wished I had read the first book in the series as it would have helped me to better understand the tension between all of the main characters. Other than that one slight hiccup, this novel will have you savoring each luscious moment even as you anticipate what succulent novel the author will serve up next.
