Since she was five years old, Lady Alethea Vaughn Channing has had visions of some boy-turned-man in the fire and in her dreams. She has no idea who he is, but as she grew with him there was a closeness she felt for the beautiful man.
Hartley Greville, Marquis of Redgrave is a man on a mission. There is a certain lady who has a reputation as a woman who picks her lovers depending on what secrets they hold and he is determined to find out all she knows.
When Alethea sees Hartley’s death in the fire, she immediately rushes to London to inform him of the danger he is in. At first he takes what she says with a grain of salt, but as her visions are explained in drawings of his childhood, he begins to believe what she has to say. Though he is reluctant to work with her, Alethea helps him in whatever way she can. Hartley never expects to find himself so attracted to someone as mysterious as her, and his feelings only escalate as their mission leads her straight into a murderer’s line of sight.
If He’s Wild will grab you from the first page. Ms. Howell has a way of writing that keeps the reader interested; wanting to cherish each word and phrase that is read. The sense of adventure and danger keep you on the edge throughout the book, and you will find yourself reading faster just to see what happens next. I fell in love with Germaine and Bayard and hope to hear more about them in future books, as well as poor Modred. This is another great tale from a very talented author.
