HER SHEIK PROTECTOR
Silhouette, an imprint of Harlequin Books
Romantic Suspense; Contemporary
Rating: 3 Cups
After a horrendous “accident” took out her father, along with many good people, Rylie Hunt vowed to get to the bottom of the mysterious explosion. She has one suspect and she is determined to prove her theory right, at any cost.
Darin Kadir suspects that the Taj Zabbar family has an ongoing feud with the Kadir family. But he hopes that he is wrong in his assumption, especially since it took out many innocent lives.
When Rylie finds herself teaming up with the man she thought was the enemy, she begins to question her attraction to sexy Darin. But as one incident after another starts around her, all having to do with the Taj Zabbar family, Rylie begins to suspect that the Kadir’s had nothing to do with the explosion that took her father and left her family practically destitute. But now that her feelings for Darin have grown, their mutual enemy has Rylie in their sights and instead of just questioning her, they will go out of their way to destroy her and Darin. They know the Taj Zabbar must be stopped, but at what cost to their love, their lives, and their sanity?
Her Sheik Protector was a good read. I like how strong Ms. Conrad has Rylie coming across, especially since she needs that strength to stay with Darin and help him in the family war against Taj Zabbar. The way Darin comes across as so protective, trying to keep her out of harm’s way, allows the reader to see the protector he is. Getting to know the rest of the Kadir brothers was nice as well, leading the reader to want to continue the series to see what happens next.
