Historical; Suspense; Gothic
Rating: 4 Cups
Anna Scott knows what she wants her husband to be like. She will not settle for anything less than perfect.
Colin Marsec has been Anna’s best friend for years. He knows he does not meet her standards when it comes to her ideal husband, but has his heart set on proving her wrong.
Chase Trent takes one look at Anna and knows he is going to get her. Being the perfect husband material, he sets out to win her hand and does so quickly.
Anna assumes her life will go on being perfect once she and Chase have said their nuptials, but soon after their vows are spoken, her life takes a terrifying turn. Living in fear, anger, betrayal, pain, and sorrow, Anna turns to her best friend for guidance. To make matters more complicated, she finds out why Chase has been staying at the office later and later each time. Will her life and marriage continue to spiral out of control or can she figure out how to finally get the happily ever after she has always wanted?
From the first words, Her Perfect Man kept me glued to the pages. I had a hard time coming to terms with how Anna was willing to settle with how Chase treated her as long as she got to keep the money and her place in society. But it was great to see her finally grow up and realize exactly what she wanted and who she wanted to be. Ms. Galifany uses such clarity and vivid imagination when setting up this gothic themed book, that I could practically hear every harsh breath as the tale continued its’ thrillingly suspenseful twists and turns.
