HEART OF THE WOOLF

Rating: 4 Cups
Adrienne Lee is a woman on the run, and one who harbors a secret, though you would never know it from how she acts in public. Finally, after a year, she feels somewhat safe and begins to let her guard down, going so far as to fantasize about her hot and sexy boss.
Jake Woolf is all too aware of Adrienne’s lust, and as an empath it is all he can do not to call her on it. However, there is the little problem of her being his subordinate, and the fact that so far in his life his luck with women has not been good. Then there is also the issue of him being a werewolf. Werewolves might be recognized as having the same rights as everyone else by the law now, but it does not mean there is not prejudice.
It is not too long after Adrienne and Jake get together that things begin to fall apart. Adrienne overhearing a phone conversation of Jake’s at work thinks he has betrayed her, and nearly makes the biggest mistake of her life. It is only when she reaches out to Jake mentally that there is some hope of discovering the level of lies and truths around her.
What a fantastic book! Ms. Andersen draws you into the story and just keeps plying you with layer upon layer of mystery. You get one question answered and then she introduces another one. I could not put it down. The sex is hot and varied, and the emotional scenes wrenching, but in a good way. This is paranormal romance at its best.
