Shadow Peak Wolves, Book 4
LORNA JEAN ROBERTS
Rating: 4 Cups
Hanna grew up in a pack that abused the less powerful members. The beautiful young wolf was the daughter of one of the lowest ranking members, so her life was very difficult, and her life after her escape was little better.
Marcus is an alpha werewolf to the bone, but he lives with his brother-in-law’s pack as an Enforcer. He is happy in his position, but finds himself envious of his sister and wishing for a mate of his own.
Hanna has been rescued from an awful situation, but her former friends have made her a persona non grata with Marcus’ pack. He knows she is innocent, but she is tainted with the crimes of her friend. Marcus is also very attracted to Hanna and very much fears that she is his mate. The two are sent to establish order in a newly conquered pack so they will have time to figure out their feelings; if they live that long.
I have been a fan of this series from the beginning and wondered what the author had in mind for Marcus. I was not disappointed; Hanna is down, but definitely not out and much stronger than anyone ever thought. This novel has everything a fan of paranormal romance could ask for: romance, betrayal, a hot alpha hero, a heroine who is not a weakling, action, and an evil villain that needs to be vanquished. The only downside is that the story was over too soon and now I will have to wait to read the next one.
