GHOST OF A CHANCE

Rating: 4 Cups
Wynter Storm loves her town and her life, but she has a secret she never plans to tell. The women in her family have carried the secret for generations but she hopes it has skipped her.
Trace Hawthorne has returned to his hometown after many years abroad. Years ago the death of his wife and his subsequent guilt drove him out of the only home he has ever known, but now he is back to give his young daughter the stability and home she needs. The surprising addition of Wynter into the community makes him think that he is ready to love again; maybe.
What neither could see coming was the secret living in the new home that Trace purchased. This unexpected revelation may lead to the discovery of Wynter’s secret, but she is hoping that if she is ignores it then it will not be true.
I loved the mystery in this book. The secret was hinted at from the beginning but skillfully concealed. Wynter is a wonderfully talented character that was well developed and easy to become attached to. The little girls in the stories were so typical of preteens who want their way that it brought back memories of my own childhood. A good read for when you need a break from your own life.
