Aisling McConaughey has not been completely trained as a shamaness, yet her services are desperately needed to help save the mistress of a wealthy man. When she must bring in a demon to help, things become complicated.
Djinn prince Zurael en Caym has been summoned by Aisling to help with her search. None too pleased that his enemy has bound him to help, he plans to take care of her once the mission is completed.
When war and plague kills most of the earth’s people, it brings out the supernaturals, and calls for a shamaness, which leads straight to Aisling’s home. There is nothing left to do but surrender to the cause. She will have to enter the spiritlands where the dead wait for judgment or rebirth. It is there Aisling calls upon Djinn prince Zurael en Caym. Zurael has been given his own task. He must locate an ancient tablet and use Aisling to lure in the enemy who has ownership of it. Once the task is accomplished he intends on killing Aisling, but will his heart allow him to finish the deed after being touched by her spirit?
Love really digs deep into the heart in Ghostland. I was deeply touched how Zurael strives to do everything to spare Aisling. I found this an exhilarating read that sizzles, shines, and leaves the reader in awe. I could feel the love that deepens with Zurael’s voice, his touch and everything revolving around him and Aisling. The sensual desire they feel for the other consumes the reader. There is no greater love than what the two shared for each other as they face danger, peace or just being alone together. I really felt their love sweeping through the pages. Jory Strong takes the reader into an eloquent world that this reader could imagine and feel a part of in this daring read.
