Paranormal Ménage Romance
Rating: 3 Cups
Helen did not expect her life to be irrevocably changed when she took on the job as a tour guide for her friend.
Wesley loathes humans, but there is something about Helen that has his inner-wolf wanting to mark her as his. Targus came very close to being mated to one of the royal princesses. When he was not selected, it left him in a funk. Marco is not even looking for another mate. After losing his first mate, he does not even feel like sniffing around to ease any desires.
All three wolves encounter Helen at one time or another. They will all want to claim her as their own, but are they willing to share? And how can they even think about sharing their lives with her when she is a mere human and therefore forbidden to their kind?
Forbidden Mate started out as an okay read. To me, the storyline felt rushed. I did not get a real chance to savor any encounter Helen had with one of the male characters before she was suddenly in the arms of another. Then about halfway through the book, Ms. Espino immersed Helen and two of the males in a roomful of decadence and desire. The tale smoothed out and the chemistry that was barely there in the beginning overwhelmed my senses and enhanced the story. With the third male character entering the already complex threesome and the danger thrown into the mix, this book ended on a better note than it began.
