Lily Foyle’s life has been anything but simple. At the age of nine, she witnessed something so horrific her mind blocked out what it was. And after her uncle is convicted of a number of murders, she is thrown into the foster system. She now is living a life that is downright disgusting and demoralizing.
Neil Slater is the detective that has gotten this old case and is sure Lily knows much more. Only she is not so willing to help out. He also has to figure out who is lying and who the real killer is. Did they act alone and what do the two new murders have to do with the case?
As different scenarios play out, many lead to dead ends as Neil and his partner try to find the killer or killers related to this case. Is the killer Lily’s uncle? Did he have help, or is he innocent? He also needs to convince Lily to help the investigation before anyone else is killed.
I honestly must say that I was a bit disappointed in the story. It started off well enough, but after a short while I felt the story did not flow very well. I seemed to lose the way the author was taking the story. I would recommend using your own judgment on this read.
