Jola is a Falcon, but she is also a woman with a woman’s desire. When her Falcon mate is tragically shot down, she vows revenge against those who have invaded her land.
Nakos is a warrior from the Ekewoko tribe. After their enemy strikes against them, they follow a vision from their Shaman in search of the ones who will help destroy those who have attacked them.
While swimming in the lake, Jola is attacked by Nakos. But instead of taking her straight to his Shaman as instructed, he tests his seductive powers by controlling her every heated move. She is determined to stay above the hedonistic sensuality that Nakos oozes, but she is unable to deny the desire she feels for the warrior. When he finds out exactly what she is, will he stay with her or go back to his own people?
Falcon’s Captive is a steamy read! If I wore glasses, they would be fogged up right now that is for sure. While the sex scenes are highly erotic, I was put off somewhat by Nakos’ overpowering ways in the beginning. I love a good BDSM novel as much as any other fan, but there is something about the way the male character controls Jola that had me feeling as if this were less dominating sex and closer to rape. I will stress that the sex scenes ARE consensual, but for me they really did push the envelope just a little too much. But, when it comes to reading a good tale, Ms. Harper does know how to keep the story going until the end.
