Erotic Alternative M/M Paranormal Romance
Rating: 3 Cups
The bomb in Afghanistan nearly takes Furio Curzi’s leg. Some days, he wishes it has. The road to recovery has been long and painful, yet it is the blow to his career that is the hardest to accept.
The thousands of miles he travels to get to Lake Bolsena is a journey Nemel wishes never to repeat. Danger, however, is never far away, even on a lake filled with summer tourists and local fishermen.
Being sent to photograph a lake monster is about as low as Furio can get as a professional photographer, until his little lakeside excursion turns into something more sinister. The lake, however, is stunning, although even that pales in comparison to Nemel. What Furio comes to learn about Nemel changes his entire world, making him realize that this place is where he is meant to be. Stopping a drug runner is their main priority if they want to survive. Most importantly, if they want to be together forever.
This story puts a neat little twist on your average shifter novel, as you will soon discover. With Furio’s leg injury, he feels a bit like a wounded warrior, allowing the reader to empathize with his character. Nemel, mean-while, is more of an enigma, as you do not get a first-hand account of what he is feeling and why. It is the drug operation Furio and Nemel stumble across that, in my opinion, keeps things interesting for them as well as for the reader.
