Jason Dietrich is a resident in pediatrics, doing his rotation in the ER. It has been chaos as it is short staffed, due to the flu going around. But in many ways, he does not mind since he truly likes his job and wishes to stay in the Pediatrics area.
Kara Baker owns a bakery that she manages all by herself, with lots of hard work and determination. But her life as a baker must go on hold when, with excruciating pain, she learns she needs surgery on her appendix.
Jason happens to be the doctor Kara gets in the ER. They soon find they have known each other in high school where they had a crush on each other. Sparks fly between them, and they set off on a whirlwind romance. But life always throws a monkey wrench when least expected. Can Kara and Jason’s relationship survive a real large one?
Although I like the story’s concept and both characters’ background, I truly wish there was a bit more substance to the book. In my opinion, it all seems to center on their sex life, not a relationship. Overall, I enjoy the read, just not as much as I would have liked.
