EDGE OF OBLIVION
A Night Prowler Novel, Book 2
Rating: 4 Cups
The sense of wanting more has clung to Morgan Montgomery her entire existence. In her case, however, the “more” is now about to get her dead in a very public and painful way.
Emotions, feelings, even expressions are so deeply buried in Xander Luna he appears stone cold to nearly everyone who knows him. It does, however, make him the most exceptional assassin of his kind.
A two-week reprieve is more than Morgan could dream of. Too bad it comes with one major condition–locating the elusive and deadly Expurgari with an assassin as her bodyguard. Babysitting duty is not part of Xander’s job description, especially when it involves one as devastatingly beautiful and disturbing as Morgan. The job is simple. She either finds the Expurgari, or he kills her. Somehow, such simplicity goes terribly awry. Somehow, she becomes his reason for breathing. Morgan thinks death would be her fate, unfortunately she is about to learn that it could be her only salvation.
Very little compares to a man with the sleek stealthy beauty of a dangerous predator, and that is why readers are going to love this Night Prowler series. Xander is everything a cold calculating killer should be, except when it comes to Morgan. She is as exquisite as she is exasperating, and I love how she gets under his skin, inch by inch all the way to his heart. Their powerful connection will be a hard act to follow, but I am sure Ms. Geissinger will prove once again what an amazing story teller she is.
