Avani is a protector of the Earth. She has an odd birthmark that links her to her elemental ancestry. When the earth shudders and cries out in distress, Avani, heedless of her own safety, transforms into a tree in an attempt to discover the cause of the horrific phenomenon.
Strange circumstances thrust Chuck West into the realization that Avani is a special young woman. Avani needs his protection, and he is happy to help her through the emergency; but Chuck is a non-believer when it comes to happily ever after.
Avani and her family dig through old records and discover indications that this evil has been encountered before, so they come up with a plan they hope will contain the beast responsible for spreading the poisonous plague.
This delightfully original story t is fun to read. It is a reminder that sometimes the love we seek may be closer than we realize. I love the dynamics exhibited between the four sisters. It is so obvious they love, respect and accept each other; embracing and cherishing each other’s special gifts. It is also a gentle reminder that although the ties that bind us to others can be uniquely diverse, and perhaps even uncomfortable, they challenge us to become more open-minded and empathetic. Chuck struggled with the notion of destiny verses free will, but he also was led to the realization that, with acceptance, came some amazing perks he never could have known, otherwise.
