Heather Donovan has recently made the most important decision of her life. After living with the love of her life and giving birth to their beautiful son, she has come to the realization that she is worth a ring on her finger and moves out.

Connor O’Brien is a divorce lawyer who sees the ugly side of marriage time and again. He thought Heather knew the score on marriage but when she moves out, taking their young son with her, he begins to wonder what went wrong.

Heather knows that Connor will be furious when he realizes she has moved to his home town of Chesapeake Shores. But she needs family around and the O’Brien’s are about as close to family as she can get. The tight-knit family members have come to the conclusion that it is up to them to get their wayward relative to see how beautiful marriage can be. Will Heather get the marriage proposal she is looking for or is it too late to save this relationship?

I love how the O’Brien clan interacted with one another as it gave this novel a feeling of being a true story versus fiction. Ms. Woods has definitely made me appreciate the big family I have as I saw many of the same quirks in the very vocal family members starring in this novel. Driftwood Cottage shows us how much Heather loves Connor and vice versa, but it also shows us how much Heather has become aware of how much her heart is worth. I loved seeing Connor’s eyes get opened when he started really listening to his male clientele as they complained about their wives after Heather gave him the pointer about really hearing both sides. I was entertained throughout this story as I watched the ups and downs of Heather and Connor’s relationship as well as other members of the O’Brien clan.
