Laura Bennett is probably best known for the time she spent on Bravo channel’s Project Runway. With this book, the reader gets to take an inside look at the personal side of her life.
As a mother of six children, Laura’s life is anything except boring. With her only daughter off at college, testosterone floods the household. The things these five boys come up with are astonishing to say the least. The events within the daily life of this reality television personality’s existence could be a television show of its own. From introducing the reader to her brood through the family’s vacations and holidays, Laura touches on every subject with humor.
Okay, I will admit the title alone made me laugh out loud when it arrived on my desk, but that does not always mean a good book. As I cracked the cover and began reading the first page, I was giggling from the very start. Ms. Bennett reminds me of one of my favorite writers, Erma Bombeck, just with a little more foul language. The way this book is written had me visualizing the events as they unfolded. The author says things that most mothers would never dream of saying out loud, and she does it with attitude and humor. While her parenting skills may be disagreeable to a few people, if you can look past them to the zaniness, this book is a must have just in time for Mother’s Day.
