It is just like her to want something she should not have, but Kara Crawford cannot help herself. She is tired of giving in to the pressures of conforming to what others want from her when her wants and needs take a backseat every time.
As a young boy, Dante De Matteo had it drilled into his head that he needed to be responsible, and act like a man, so it is no wonder he is very much a Dominant. He loves the feeling of control, both in his professional and personal life.
To see Dante again, so many years after high school, is not something Kara expected nor needed, but she cannot ignore the heat that burns through her when she looks at this gorgeous man. Still a little raw from her last relationship, Kara tries to keep her emotions under wraps with Dante, but he peals back every one of her layers. Dante revels in Kara’s natural submissiveness, but what really rocks him is own reactions. Never has he felt like this about another woman, and it scares the hell out of him to think of where this might lead.
There is something so intoxicating about a man who can take command with nothing more than a look, and I feel Dante is very much that man. BDSM is clearly the inspiration behind this story, but like the practice itself trust and honesty is key to what it takes for Kara to really let go. Very few people are strong enough to handle this type of commitment, and that can be seen when Dante struggles to overcome his fears. Eve Berlin hits the mark with Desire’s Edge, and now I have one more author to add to my list of must reads.
