All of his life, Leo Bailey wanted nothing more than to get out of the poverty he was born into. When Leo makes a deal with the devil, he suddenly finds himself filthy rich and desperately wanting more.
Anne Hartfield may be part of society, but as the daughter of a poor baron she knows it will not be long before society’s doors are not opened to her and her father anymore. When Leo Bailey asks for her hand in marriage, she does not look too closely at his agenda and jumps at the chance.
Leo knows that he may be rich but he does not have the lineage that society thrives on when it comes to being accepted. With Anne as his wife, he now has the money and the prestige he has craved. But as his marriage begins to strengthen through love and passion, Leo begins to realize he has made a major mistake when he made a deal with the devil. Will Leo really be willing to give up all he has gotten so ruthlessly so he can claim the love he so desperately desires?
Demon's Bride is one of those books that will fascinate and grab you from the get go. I love how Leo's boldness compliments Anne's more reserved manners. Ms. Archer knew what she was doing when she put her pen to paper and wrote this amazingly tantalizing tale. One of the best things about this book is that you do not have to read the first book in the series to understand this one. However, for those of you who have read the first book in the series, you will be happy to know that there are some beloved characters from the first one who make an appearance in this one as well. I cannot wait to read the next book in the Hellraisers series!
