Cecily is sure everything is ready for the Christmas Holiday at the Pennyfoot. Decorations are done and guests and workers alike are keeping busy. But a hint of worry nags at Cecily as she hopes things will go smoothly. Alas, that wish soon becomes null as a body is found, and it is presumed it was a murder.
There is a list of suspects that could have wanted to see the young man killed. Strange guests and Cecily’s employees top that list. The most likely suspect is a maid named Gertie, who had twins by the man.
As the list of suspects grows, the worry Cecily feels seems to consume her thoughts. Can she help find the killer before someone is wrongly accused of murder and not have the holiday ruined at the Pennyfoot?
What a fantastic story. Great mystery surrounding the death of a man that seems people once liked then hated. A cast of suspects keeps you guessing "who done it" till the very end. I love the setting for the story; it makes you feel as if you are stepping back into another time and place. Decked with Folly is worthy of your time to read.
