Kelly Cochran is hiding out on a South Pacific cruise with Robert Hillyard, an old family friend and movie producer. He is trying to convince her to marry him regardless of the age difference. Kelly has a hard time standing up to him, until she meets Alex and sparks fly between them.
Alex Drake is a very handsome English actor. After a bad experience trying to divorce his wife, Vanessa, he does not want to be married ever again. However, he has no problem flirting with women. Now, on meeting Kelly, he is attracted to her at first sight.
Because her late father has been accused of embezzlement and causing the financial ruin of many of the company’s clients, Kelly receives many death threats and at least one attempt on her life. After another assassination attempt, Kelly and Alex have to survive and depend on each other to get home.
I have found the book very well written and the story engaging. I love how realistic the adventure Kelly and Alex go on. Kelly is a little too much of a push over, and even if I understand her attachment to Robert, she never really speaks up for herself. I also find it hard to believe that there is no way Alex can handle Vanessa once and for all. Vanessa’s character is a bit over the top and unrealistic. The rest of the cast of characters are realistic in there portrayal. Overall, this has been a wonderful story.
