Cassie Danner has led a life full of heartaches and heartbreaks. When her husband passed away three years ago while they were hiking, she thought it was the end of the world until she learned about the secrets he had kept from her.
Robbin McKeag was a child actor years ago and now he battles with his many addictions. Trying to fix his life, he returns home to mend his ways.
Cassie knew that Robbin was trouble from the first moment she met him a year ago. Somehow though, he gets under her skin and she falls for the rugged cowboy. Robbin needs to understand that his usual brusque manners do not work with her and he must change his ways. Can Cassie and Robbin figure out where they stand in each other's lives and figure out that the love they have for each other is the real thing?
Cowboys Never Cry is a sweet romantic story with some very real problems within the plot. The way Cassie struggles with her past relationship with her deceased husband, as well as, her present relationship with Robbin shows that when it comes to complications, Ms. Welling knows how to intertwine romance and obstacles turning this into a good novel. I really enjoyed how Cassie never sees Robbin as a superstar actor, instead she sees beyond his famous character to the man he needs to be. From the beginning the chemistry between the two characters fairly sizzles and sparks leaving the reader with the impression that this is a book that should be savored.
