Fool’s Gold, California is the perfect small town. When Charity Jones moves there, she falls in love with the people and the roots she plans to plant in the picturesque setting. What she had not planned on was the shortage of men or that her job was going to include finding ways to bring them in. Hearing this from her boss, the mayor, makes the new job seem daunting. Especially since she feels attracted to the town’s most eligible bachelor and bicycling superstar.

Josh Golden has lived the good life, as gold as his name suggests. Winning race after race, even winning the Tour de France, has given him fame and glory. However this small town boy at heart remembers a time when his body was broken, and blames himself for a tragic accident that happened in his last race. Will he overcome his fears and be the man he feels he needs to be to win the love of the town’s newest import, Charity Jones?

Overcoming their own personal issues is the biggest barrier between these two, but luckily there is a whole town full of people doing their best to shove them together. Will they make it or will it just be another romantic disaster?

Set in the heartwarming town of Fool’s Gold, where everyone not only knows your name but your deepest secrets, this story had a cast of characters who were all lifelike and caring. The sense of community in this series is heartwarming and the passion between Charity and Josh unmistakable. The only downfall is that sometimes both Charity and Josh crossed that line into too perfect; almost unbelievably nice. Since they both have a lot to overcome from their pasts, not to mention their relationship conflicts, that was the only drawback in an otherwise fantastic read. All in all, a wonderful story in an enthralling series.
