When Macy O’James was in high school, she got a bad reputation as a girl who went the distance. Though the rep given to her was a complete fabrication, no one wanted to believe otherwise and as soon as she received her diploma Macy left Sugarville with the thought of never returning again.
Gabe Donovan is a big city man who loves the small town life in Washington. As the new chief for the Sugarville fire department, he expects events to be much calmer than his job in Detroit.
Years have passed since the incident in high school and Macy has returned to help her cousin out as she recuperates from a car accident. Gabe notices the sexy woman right away with her outrageously sexy outfit and husky phone-sex voice. He has also heard all about the notorious woman and vows to stay as far from her as he can since he wants to keep his inner bad boy reigned in. But in a town where everyone knows everyone else’s business, it is hard for Macy and Gabe to stay away from each other…and even harder to keep their hands off each other.
Wow! Burning Up is a fiery combination with tons of spice, action, hidden secrets, uncontrollable passion, dangerous fires, nasty people, and a couple of extra surprises to keep this novel entertaining. The way Macy and Gabe try to stay away from each other as sexual tension and sparks keep them questioning their sanity was such a major part of the storyline and I loved every moment of it. Their attraction to each other is such a good part of the plot and had me shaking my head at their nonsense and laughing as they finally allowed themselves the chance to relieve some much needed sexual hunger. This is a superb book which includes all the vicious comments made toward Macy about her past, the arsonist who was wreaking havoc on Gabe’s character, the steamy sex, the surprising hook-up, the steamy sex, the secret that had been kept for too long, and did I mention the steamy sex? Ms. Andersen sure knows how to keep her readers on edge as I found out when I could not seem to turn the pages fast enough.
