TED DEKKER AND ERIN HEALY
Rating: 3 Cups
Janeal Mikkado has never fit in with the Gypsy people. Only half Gypsy, she is an outcast in both worlds, not even sure of the love of her boyfriend or father. The gap is growing larger all the time.
Salazar Sanso is a very dangerous man. Jason Mikkado owes him money and Sanso is not above blackmail or murder to get it.
One night the Kumpania where Janeal Mikkado and her father live is attacked and burned to the ground. There were no survivors but Janeal, or so she thought. Fifteen years later the man responsible is in custody and Janeal finds that she might not have been the only survivor of the fire. Her then best friend Katie and boyfriend Robert may still be alive and looking for justice or revenge.
This is a very complex novel that must be read carefully to get all of the nuances and clues. It is also very exciting with interesting characters and a suspenseful and thought provoking plot. I liked the theme of the consequences of a person’s behavior coming back to haunt them. The story has some interesting twists and turns and a surprising ending.
