Connie Aberdeen has just moved back home to Missouri from Baltimore. After her sister’s brutal accident, she is now raising her young niece and hopes to raise her in a safe and loving environment.
Chance McAffey works in his family’s theater in Branson. He still has not gotten over the love of his life, Connie.
When one of the show singers is injured, Chance needs to quickly find a replacement. He thinks Connie is an amazing singer and would do very well. Chance knows that Connie has recently moved back to the area, but after their past, he does not know how she will take hearing from him. He hurt her very badly seven years ago. When they finally see one another, all the deep emotions come rushing back. Chance desperately wants a second chance, but Connie just does not know if she can trust him again.
Branson’s Beauty is a light entertaining novel. The reader is easily swept into the excitement of Branson as well as the emotions of the main characters. Connie’s niece, Sarah, is a wonderful addition to the story. She is simply adorable. I really enjoyed the fact that, in this book, the reader does not know the complete back story until the very end, although clues are given. Ms. Coston has written a smoothly flowing story with fresh characters and dialogue.
