Shane Laughlin, former Navy Seal, has no clue what the Obermeyer Institute is or does but the job offer is intriguing. Not as intriguing as the beautiful woman he hooks up with in a meeting so hot it pops all the circuit breakers. It is increasingly interesting when he mentions the job offer from OI and she runs for the door.
Michelle “Mac” Mackenzie is a powerful woman with little time for ties to men but she has discovered she can use them and her own powers to heal herself. When her current man walks out she goes to the local bar hoping for a hook-up. She gets more than she bargained for in Shane and when she realizes they have very different ties she runs.
Mac may attempt to deny Shane and the way he makes her feel but he is unwilling to let her go. The feelings he has for her are beyond anything he has ever felt or ever expected to feel but he is a Navy Seal and never runs from a challenge. Fate dictates there is no running because Mac and Shane must work together to stop a killer before the killer takes another victim.
Born to Darkness is a symphony for the senses. It hits every cord of a romance, thriller, mystery, paranormal, and out of this world powers. I was enthralled from the very first page. Though I enjoyed the developing relationship between Mac and Shane I was enthralled by the byplay of emotions between Bach and Anna as well as Elliot and Diaz. All of this wrapped up in a game of mystery and murder left me wanting more, more, more. Born to Darkness is the opening salvo to a series which is destined for success and blow readers away.
