Falon grew up on the fringe of society, never quite fitting in, because of her gifts and her lack of family. Starving and unhappy, she heads to the local store to steal a sandwich, and instead gets attacked and swept off into a world that she does not understand. Drawn to her kidnapper, Rafael, she finds the connection and passion that she didn’t even believe possible prior to meeting him. But will his brother ruin her first chance to belong?
Living for little more than his ability to kill Slayers—the ones who are hell bent on destroying his kind—and his duty to his pack, Rafe first plans to kill Falon, because she has seen too much. But the more time she spends with him, the more her body calls to his. Will he be able to resist the completion that the heat of her body offers? Or will he fall for the one woman that destiny has claimed as his brother’s to kill?
Torn apart by the blood law that calls for her life, these two are drawn together by a love neither can resist. With Rafael’s twin, Lucian, calling for her demise, they must suffer through his taunting visits. At the same time, Slayers are trying to use the fact that the pack is rent by the twin’s long fight to destroy their kind for all time. Will they manage to overthrow the blood law and stay together, or will fate do what it has always planned?
Falon is one of the most demanding and powerful leading ladies that I have had the pleasure of meeting. Not a simpering miss, she is as much an alpha as her leading man. Lucian, who is almost a bad guy in this story, is attractive enough that you are torn between wanting him to have his way with Falon and hating him. Altogether, it was a beautiful blend of the paranormal and the erotic that makes this reader sure that she will be looking for the other two books the minute they hit the shelves.
