Regency Erotic Romance
Rating: 4 Cups
Sick with a mysterious illness, Lady Octavia Greenville does not have much time to live, according to the doctors in London. So she is determined to know sexual passion with a masterful lover before dying. Refusing to be put off by the strictures of propriety, Octavia decides to take matters into her own hands. Not only does she pursue the lover she wants, she picks the most notorious rake in all of London.
Matthew Winthrop, Earl of Sutcliffe, has no time for the frivolities of London society. He is stalking the vampire who turned his brother, Gregory, and forced Matthew to kill him. When Matthew receives a forged invitation to an orgy, his curiosity demands he attend. What he does not anticipate is to find a bold, brash, and yet innocent, woman who lures him to bed for a night of unexpectedly erotic pleasure.
Octavia cannot understand how sex with Matthew can make her feel so much better, as if her illness has reversed. When the two become embroiled in the expectations of society, they are forced to marry. As events spiral out of control, Octavia must face the fact that she is a succubus with insatiable physical needs and an uncanny emotional attachment to Matthew. Truth, lies, reality and perception all become casualties of the tempestuous love of two people, who will brave the fires of hell to be together.
Set against the backdrop of the Regency period, Octavia and Matthew’s story unfolds at a furious pace. Though Blood Fire is part of Ms. Page’s Blood Series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone. The chemistry nearly scorches the pages as these two lovers discover what it is to love. Perhaps, the only drawback is that the ferocity of the erotic element tends to overshadow the rich paranormal world contained within.
