A year of penance has passed for Kyle, and now he needs to put the past behind him and move on. Too bad this is something his heart is having a hard time understanding.
The day the boy arrives Tad takes notice, and what he sees makes him want, makes him angry, but most of all, makes him sad.
At first it was drugs, but now Kyle deadens his pain with a string of nameless and faceless bodies, anything to forget Jason. Now working on a ranch halfway across the country, Kyle still finds himself filling the void with eager young men. One man however begins to take over his every thought, and they leave Kyle more nervous and scared than ever. Tad makes him want to give in and let someone else take control, but Kyle is terrified his heart will not withstand another blow.
The desperation and pain in Kyle’s heart is so vivid and strong it cloaks his entire world in a haze. He cannot see past the next release to even begin to heal, until he meets Tad. It is like an awakening to watch the walls break down around him, and all it needs is a few words and pointed looks from a man who cares. Tad and Kyle may still have a long road to haul, but every step of their journey would make for a wonderful read.
