Cross has been recruited to help a team find out who is responsible for gruesome killings. They feel he is the best man for the job because he is a professional and gets things done; no one is immune.
When things go a bit unplanned trying to capture a member who is doing the killing, Cross and the others involved find it is very difficult to capture the specimen alive in order to study it.
Gruesome murders are happening all over the world and the connection seem to be unknown, but the one thing they do have in common is they are brutal and have body parts such as their spine removed. Can this group of misfits solve this case, or is it just more than they can handle?
This happens to be one of the strangest books I have read in a long time. I liked the storyline, but found it a bit confusing at times. The cast of characters is very diverse and eclectic which helps the story broaden out some; but I was truly disappointed with the ending. So I must say use your own judgment on Blackjack by Mr. Vachss.
