BENEATH THE THIRTEEN MOONS
Science Fiction; Romance
Rating: 3 Cups
Mahri Zin needs the help of a healer. She needs someone who can help her friends and family overcome the sickness that took her own beloved child and as well as her lover.
Prince Korl Com’nder is studying to be a great healer. While sleeping, he is kidnapped from his room, mistaken for a simple healer instead of the royalty he is.
On the way back to her village, Mahri and Korl will have great adventures as they battle nature, animals, and their passion for each other. With the bridge between their social castes already great, Mahri knows nothing can ever come of their passion other than great sex. But Korl is determined to make Mahri his at any cost. Will Mahri finally realize that Korl is the man she has come to love before he is murdered by one of his many enemies?
Beneath the Thirteen Moons is a complicated book with a world that I found sometimes difficult to follow. While Kathryne Kennedy brings amazing depictions and unique characters to any reader’s world, I have to say some of the language used lost me and had me trying to figure out what the characters were talking about. I love the passion and emotional twists and turns as Mahri and Korl discover each other’s worlds. The struggle that Mahri has when it comes to giving up her heart to Korl, gives this tale a heartfelt feeling. As she discovers how far he will go to show her he would leave the light on, left me with a lump in my throat and a very satisfied smile.
