THE WOLF, THE WITCH, AND HER LACK OF WARDROBE
Tully Smith is the Mayor of Smithville County. He also happens to be the Alpha Male of the Smith Pack. When a new coven of witches came to town ten months ago, they made room so they could help protect the town from other species doing harm to the townspeople as well as the town.
Jamie Meacham knows that most of the people in their new town do not like her. As far as she knows, most of her coven witches do not like her either. She keeps to herself and has a tendency to make bad things happen accidentally.
But Tully and Jamie must join forces when a new pack comes to town. The mayor knows that his estranged father is up to no good and wants to find out why he is here. With the witch’s help, he begins to defend his town and his family from the man who would rather see him dead than alive.
Ms. Laurenston has written a good tale. I love how Tully and Jamie seem to be complete opposites in their characteristics and mannerisms. There are parts that seem like the reader would have had to read a previous story to understand what is going on. However about halfway through the tale the suspense, action, romance, and steamy sex picked up making this a much more enjoyable read.
IN THE DARK
Sadie James knows all about the things that go bump in the night. As a leopard shifter, she is on a special task force set up by the FBI to help contain the paranormal activities that go on.
Liam Sullivan was Sadie’s partner as well as her lover two years ago. Then tragedy struck when he was killed in the line of duty.
These past two years has been unbelievably hard for Sadie as she tries to deal with his death. Every time she turns around, she feels as if she can smell his scent or hear him breathing. What she does not realize is that Liam was not buried in the ground. Instead, he came back as a vampire, and now he must work with Sadie to find a sadistic killer while he tries to keep his distance from the woman he still loves.
Ms. Eden has written an unbelievably hot and spicy book. The sexual tension between Liam and Sadie is rife with sadness, heartbreak, and love. The action as they hunt for a killer is also quite intense and definitely had me on the edge of my seat. I can guarantee that this erotic story will have you wanting more from this amazing author.
CITY OF THE DEAD
Dori Falcon seems to be always running after her brother. Whenever he comes up missing in New Orleans, she heads to the police department to file a missing persons report.
Detective Jake Boudreau knew the first time he saw Dori that she was trouble. With her sensual looks and hot body that promised sex, he knew it was only a matter of time before they slept together. While looking for her brother, they became lovers, only to have her up and leave without a goodbye.
It has been six months since Jake and Dori saw each other. Her brother has come up missing once again, but this time the sexy cop refuses to leave her side. When he finds himself aided by a vampire and then finds out that Dori is a witch, Jake begins to understand why she ran six months ago. Helping find her missing brother is one thing, but when they must stop a demon from destroying the world, Jake realizes he may be in over his head.
The alpha male personality that comes from Jake is astounding and very sexy. I felt so bad for Dori and how she felt she has to hide who she really is from the man she loves. The sex scenes are amazingly hot, the mystery surrounding her brother’s disappearance is intense, and the paranormal background of New Orleans had me feeling as if I was there the whole time. Ms. Quinn wrote a wicked combination when she tells the story of a sexy cop and the woman who is keeping secrets from him.
Belong to the Night has three very different stories within its pages with one common element between them. Each tale is about paranormal life and falling in love while trying to keep others safe. Each of the authors tells a story in their own unique voice. This characteristic of the book kept me entertained and had me interested in what other stories each of the authors have written. With the sensuality oozing from the pages and the conflicts that each tale holds, this novel will keep you entertained for hours.
