Independence and freedom are priceless commodities to Sara McMillan, which she cannot afford to forget. Getting the chance to live her dream of working for an art gallery like Allure is scary, although that is nothing compared to what Chris is offering.
Being with her is a drug Chris Merit is quickly getting addicted to, even though he knows his dark side is something he can never let her see. If he were a good man he would push her out of his life now, before she finds out just how much pain he is buried under.
Seeing the way Chris pours his heart and soul into his art is one thing, but seeing him with kids like Dylan cements what Sara already knows; she loves him beyond reason. And that terrifies her. Losing herself to a man is the last thing Sara will let happen, yet Chris knocks down every barrier she has with remarkable ease. She needs to set her turbulent emotions aside and concentrate on Rebecca’s disappearance, which is looking more ominous with every passing day.
Sara’s feelings for Chris are like a textbook definition of cleave. Her emotional seesaw is so erratic there are times when you feel almost dizzy just trying to keep up. Chris and Sara’s relationship is also as passionate as it is volatile; much like the mystery they are trying to unravel. With this story you have not one but two missing persons, and a book that sucks you in deeper with every word. You will definitely want each installment of this trilogy, because one will never be enough!
