Phoebe Swift has started on a new journey. She left her job at Sotheby’s auction house to open her own vintage clothing shop. She knows she is taking a chance, but this is her dream. After a heartbreak in the recent past, she is ready.
Therese Bell is an elderly woman who contacted Phoebe about some old clothing she wishes to sell. They soon become friends, and the story she tells about a special piece of clothing, a child’s sky blue coat, is nothing short of amazing.
Phoebe not only makes strides in the business world, but she also seems to have acquired two suitors and a few new friends along the way. The journey she is embarking upon and the story she is learning from Therese is life altering.
What a wonderful book. A Vintage Affair is a story within a story. Reading the journey of both these women is truly exciting. I was so disappointed when the book ended. If you are truly looking for something off the beaten path with a bit of humor, romance, friendship and personal growth, then Isabel Wolff’s newest novel is just waiting for you. This reviewer highly recommends it.
