Science Fiction Fantasy Sweet Romance
Rating: 3 Cups
On her spring break, Sara chooses to go to the Bermuda Triangle for a week in the sun. Unfortunately, after going overboard she ends up on a deserted island, where she is brought food by a stranger who disappears each night. Despite the mysteries between them, the two fall in love, but she is rescued before anything can happen.
Darian, the mysterious stranger, brings Sara food each day and watches over her after rescuing her from the sea. Language barriers and secrets keep them from learning more about each other. He is not certain if he can reveal who he is to Sara, despite having fallen in love with her. His mother also opposes the match and will do what she thinks she must to protect him and their people.
After a year, Sara is compelled to go back to the Caribbean, to reconcile with her past and to be able to commit to the new man she has begun to date. She discovers that her stranger is actually real and the fantastical secrets he could not tell her before. Can she really believe him and choose him over the new man in her life?
This is a sweet, charming and fairytale-like love story with a mystery and a new twist for old legends mixed in. I enjoy the author’s take on those old legends. The characters are likable. The story flows smoothly from start to finish. In addition, the fascinating new world Ms. Nilles creates has the potential for more interesting stories.
