Lord Simon Roxbury is given an ultimatum to marry or be cut-off and it could not have happened at a worst time. The notorious gossip hound, Lady of Distinction, printed news of him being found in a compromising position with another man, which could not be further from the truth.

Lady Julianna Somerset thinks she knows all about rakes, and she feels that Simon is no different than her late husband. She did not mean to ruin Simon, but he has to realize that from her view, it most certainly looked like he was being intimate with another man.

Simon vows revenge and he hits back with all he has and his verbal punch leaves Julianna without her job. They both grasp the dire straits they are in and decide the only way they can become respectable again in society’s eyes is to marry each other. They agree to a marriage in name only, but as the hours and days pass, Simon begins to see Julianna for the truly stunning and passionate creature she is, and Julianna sees that Simon is not the same type of rake that her deceased husband was. But someone else is out to ruin Julianna, and if that means exposing their sham of a marriage, he will stop at nothing to destroy the supposedly happy couple. Can Simon and Julianna put their talented minds together and stop their nemesis by working as a team, or are they doomed to live a loveless life apart forever?

When you crack open a book, there is a certain expectation that the reader has about opening a novel full of fiction that will take you away into a world of romance, fantasy, and danger. Without a doubt A Tale of Two Lovers has all of these criteria and more. This he-said, she-said story written by the very talented Ms. Rodale gives us a historical book that includes elements of romance, danger, and hot sex to be sure, but it also contains humor, emotional pitfalls, and two strong-willed people determined to get their own way. You do not need to read the first book in the series to understand what is going on but for those of you who have, you will be happy to note that the characters from the first novel do make several appearances in this novel. I cannot wait to see who is next in the series and I am already aching to get my hands on the future Writing Girl series book.
