A RUN FOR THE MONEY
Rating: 4 Cups
Nicole Fleming has just lost the only father figure she has ever known. Joe Corbet was her stepfather and the only man to defy her mother.
Dante LaPalma was Joe’s grandson. The memories he shares are poignant and heartfelt.
Joe always did have a sense of humor, and his last will and testament is not any different. His lawyer informs Nicole and Dante that they must band together and go on a treasure hunt to get the estate that Joe left for them. As one adventure melds into another, they must overcome their first impressions of each other and work as a team within the allotted time frame, or the treasure will be lost forever. Will their hardheadedness keep them from finding the treasure, something that can change their lives forever?
A Run for the Money is a very funny and entertaining book. Ms. Ardito uses realism and humor to tell the tale of Nicole and Dante. The family dynamics between both main characters as well as the surrounding characters are really good, and yet at times very sad. The way Nicole comes to grip with her mother’s coldness is saddening and uplifting. A very nice read that will have you laughing and enjoying yourself as the adventures of Nicole and Dante unfold.
