Alayne Vaughan, a police department counselor, is intrigued by the case of a local poet who has died. Many claim it was suicide, but Alayne feels there is more to the story; she feels a connection between both their lives and feelings.
Alayne’s current boyfriend is the homicide detective in charge of this case. Angel is not the best of boyfriends but with the way her life is, how can she leave someone like him; Even though he acts strange and has many secrets.
Alayne’s curiosity gets the best of her, but digging more deeply into the death is putting her life in danger. With what looks like no one on her side and nothing left to lose, she begins to uncover secrets that many want to stay buried.
I am a fan of mysteries and was looking forward to reading this one but was terribly disappointed in this book. I am sorry to say that I did not enjoy this story very much. Although the storyline sounds exciting and with promises of twists and turns, I feel the characters' personalities are all wrong, and with so much going on, has left me confused. As we all have different opinions I would highly recommend using your own judgment on this one.
