Colonel Rich Martino has finally returned from his deployment overseas. He is hoping to see his wife and father, but endless delays make the journey home even longer. Unfortunately, upon his arrival, they are both missing, and a stranger is in his house. In addition, his bankcard is no good, and there are a whole slew of other problems as well.
Psychologist Charlotte Phillips is his father’s guardian from the time he has suffered a stroke and is comatose. She is leery of the responsibility, but feels she must fulfill her promise. What she does not expect is to have Rich Martino show up at her door, as everyone believes he has been killed the year before.
Things between Rich and Charlotte start off rocky. Working together for Rich’s father, however, they grow closer, though it is hard to admit it. Still, God’s plan for them is in action, not to mention Charlotte’s mother’s matchmaking ways.
A Hero’s Homecoming is sweet, sorrowful and inspirational. This truly is a book readers should pick up and read. If Charlotte and Rich are total opposites, they have both had many heartaches and problems in their past, which seems to make them stronger and able to cope with the present. With a budding romance and some great side characters, readers will not be disappointed in this book.
