When she retired from the WNBA Sonya Richardson stepped completely out of the public eye, so getting the call from her long ago agent is totally unexpected. Sonya’s faith in God is absolute, and it looks like she will be praying heartily to get through this project of Michelle’s.
If he ever wants to reestablish himself as a pastor for AME, John Bond knows he is going to need to remarry. His mourning for Sheila has lasted 15 years, and although the tears come just as easily today, he feels that God is telling him it is time to love again.
Hunk or Punk is a ridiculous name for an even more ridiculous show, and Sonya cannot believe she has agreed to participate. Meeting someone she could love would be nice, although the real incentive for doing this is to be able to spend time with a daughter she barely knows. The men on the Crew are a trip, but for Sonya, only John stands out as being the man she could love, live, and pray with. Getting to spend time with him however is proving to be the biggest challenge of all.
Sonya sets out to put reality in reality TV, and she does so with a bang! Her honesty and faith in God is loud and proud, sometimes to the extreme, but she lives what she believes. The real surprise is John, who you might think would be a fish out of water, but in truth becomes the glue that binds the Crew together. Sonya and John will make you laugh, they may even make you cry, but if they can make you pray, I think they would say it was a job well done.
