Annette Talbot hates running away, taking the cowardly way but she must flee the circumstance her life has fallen into. By returning to Wyoming, and being with her father, things will be much better.

Elijah lost his Pa, and the care of the ranch, thanks to a no-good woman that he once loved. Priscilla left a bitter pill inside his heart. He doubts he will be able to trust a woman again.

Annie realizes after her mother’s death, her father became a hard man but after six years of being away, she returns home. She meets Elijah on the stagecoach who recalls their younger days of living in the same town. As he recalls the woman who stabbed him in the back, he decides not to get too close to Annie, especially when it appears she continues to lie about her Pa. Besides, innocent women never traveled alone as Annie did. That alone proved she was exactly like Priscilla. Elijah and Annie slowly strike up a friendship even with their differences. No matter how furious they become with one another, deep down they know they care for the other. Will Elijah step in to woo her or turn her away?

A Cowboy Christmas is an entertaining good read. I like these characters; they are refreshing and so life-like in all their actions. This lovely story has in-depth secondary players making it even more enjoyable. Mary Connealy hooks the reader and pulls them into the pages. I could not put down this inspiring tale and did not wish it to end. I hated saying good bye. Ms. Connealy depicts a story where the characters touch upon the reader so strongly, leaving an impression in the heart for a good while. There were times I felt very much part of the family.
