A BEWITCHING BRIDE
Berkley Sensation, a division of Penguin Group (USA) Inc.
Historical Romance; Paranormal
Rating: 3 Cups
Kate Cameron knows something is “off” about herself. She keeps having dreams that seem so vivid that they feel real…and then they come true.
Gavin Hepburn knows he has powers but he does not want to believe in them. But after meeting Kate and feeling the instant connection, he knows that part of him is aching to break free and explore the sensual woman.
Kate feels a malevolent aura surrounding the place she is staying, and she quickly confides in her good friend, Dr. Will Rankin. When he ends up murdered, she knows that Gavin can help her but refuses to confide in the rakish man about the powers she keeps denying. At first glance, Gavin knew that Kate was different and she called to him. But if she is not willing to open herself to him heart and soul then it may mean the end of her forever as an evil being continues to hunt her down.
A Bewitching Bride is a good read. I found Kate to be spacey one moment and then brilliant the next, which left me with conflicting feelings about her character. Gavin is both a gentleman one moment and a total domineering male the next. The subject matter of murder and magic added to this historical romance, gives an extra spin on the plot. As Ms. Thornton’s final novel, it leaves an impression on the reader. If you enjoy magic, adventure, mystery, and two hard headed people trying to figure out love, you will enjoy this tale.
