Lindsay Proust has gotten herself into a real mess. Tricked by a former lover, who it turns out works for a secret government agency known only as Unit 13, she must trap a mystical creature called a Wyvern, or her adopted father’s political career will be destroyed. Trapped between a rock and a hard place, Lindsay would rather be anywhere but the bar she finds herself in as Wyvern bait.

Renaud Gargouille is a Wyvern male. He spots Lindsay and is immediately attracted, although from her clothing he assumes she is not seriously into the “scene”. He is suspicious, knowing there are those who would trap his kind by using beautiful women as bait, but he is willing to take the risk.

When it becomes apparent to Lindsay that Renaud will not take her to the bugged apartment Unit 13 has set up for her, she throws caution to the wind and instead goes with him to his motel room. Lindsay and Renaud quickly develop an emotional bond, even after Renaud discovers she is indeed bait to entrap him. Discomforted by what has transpired between them, Renaud leaves Lindsay the next morning. Only when the truth about who Lindsay is and when her ex-lover captures her, that Renaud wakes up and gives their bond a chance.

This is a great story with lots of action! It is highly sensual with plenty of emotionally driven hot sex. The characters were very well rounded and easy to relate to, and the author built a realistic world for them to live in, which made the book that much more enjoyable. The immortal Wyvern are well described and interesting to read about. Ms. Vremont has a winner with Wyvern Heat and I look forward to reading more by this author!
