Jesse is a man who in the eighties died of an accidental overdose. His trouble? He is in love with a living, breathing person. He is helping the ghost world to solve their mysteries while trying to work on his love life.

DB is the living, breathing man with whom Jesse is in love. He is a private investigator for Black Investigations. He is trying to keep his company afloat with the human kind of cases, but finds himself dealing with the non-paying ghost cases.

Jesse finds a little girl who was in the wrong place at the wrong time and brings her to DB for help. To solve the mystery around this little girl's death, the two men consult a psychic. Madame Yanya is able to help them solve their lovemaking problems right along with everything else.

This is a well written book with a lot of imagination and creativity. I enjoyed the humor that Jesse had in dealing with his relationship with DB. I laughed and cried with Jesse in his frustration. DB was the character I think I felt like throttling most for not seeing what was—or was not—right in front of him. The story made the human/ghost relationship realistic and had me turning—or scrolling—the page as rapidly as possible, to see if they two of them were able to work out their issues. Mr. Zachary really provided a page turner for this book-aholic.
