Paranormal Erotic Romance
Rating: 4 Cups
Avril Shearing is a landscape gardener often considered a tree surgeon to some. During her cousin’s wedding she meets a handsome man who wishes to hire her for his woodland project but there is something mysterious about the situation she finds intriguing.
Michael Deverick owns Kester Estate and needs help in developing the countryside area. He hears about Avril’s work and has just the project that calls for her attention. Regrettably, he has a foe who wants to come between his plans and Avril.
The woods have a manner of calling out to Avril like no other, and being around Michael makes the sensation even greater. It does not take long for them to become more than friends. Ash, an environmentalist, means to cause trouble for Michael. He does not trust Michael and plans to keep him out of the woods. He tries to warn Avril that Michael is a magus, or magician, dating back to two hundreds ago. Ash feels Avril should not even be entering the woods. As she works successfully for Michael, she soon learns about Kester Estate and begins to wonder if Michael is really as evil and dangerous as Ash claims.
Janine Ashbless tells quite a fascinating story in Wildwood. The unique characters practically put a spell on the audience as they thrust into a robust read that captivates. I like the name of Avril, it is unusual and listening to her tell of her adventures, in the wood, is like a breath of fresh air. The scenes with Avril and the wood, along with the moments she share with Michael are blazing. I like the bringing in of Ash along with the paranormal that spins within the wood. The suspense could be felt with this reader along with the jaw-dropping ending. This story is extremely hot to the touch.
