Classical musician Corinne Westfall feels that she has become stale and wishes to return to her studies and focus less on the music. Her father is her manager and has other plans that he needs her to go along with, no matter the cost. When she meets the men from Wildfire, another band her controlling father manages, she is completely taken with Aidan.
Aiden Hawthorne, better known as Splinter from the band Wildfire, is a rock musician with a secret. He is a shape-shifter. A firebird; a Phoenix to be exact; the highest one can go. Upon learning that his manager has been using them, he searched for and found a way out. However, he must wait for the right time because Corinne is now involved not with just the band, but also as his lover.
Together, Aiden and Corinne must face life and death to get what they want. They must stop the hatred and the greed John Westfall has put in their path. Corinne must decide if she can be with a man who is a shifter, and Aiden needs to trust that he can reveal his secret to her.
Wildfire is a great ride. It has its ins and outs and ups and downs, just like real life. The story of Aiden and Corinne is truly touching. I wept when I thought all was lost and grinned like a fool when the pages turned. This author’s true to life characters genuinely touched me.
