Annie Winston is a journalist who is headed home to Big Knob, to be maid of honor in her sister’s wedding. Of course just getting over a wearisome divorce has caused her to add some additional weight to her frame.

Jeremy Dunstan wants to be a magician. As owner of the Click-or-Treat Café, he is a computer whiz. He once had a crush on Annie and now that she is back, she is even more beautiful then the day she left.

Annie cannot believe her sister decides to change the date of her wedding. She has put on some extra weight and is not feeling too good about herself since her divorce and had hoped to lose the extra weight before the big day. Returning home means she would also run into Jeremy, who she finds cuter now than when he was a teenager. Jeremy knows immediately when she arrives. When she is asked to compose a story on life in a small town, Annie knows nothing happens in Big Knob to hold the readers interest. She decides to do a story on Jeremy becoming a magician. Jeremy is serious about being a magician and turns to friends, and resident witches, Dorcas and Ambrose Lowell. Ambrose feels he is a minor talent in the field of illusion and offers to assist Jeremy in learning about magic. Just when Jeremy feels like he may not have a chance with Annie, Dorcas and Ambrose decide to whip up a little magic of their own, but what will be the outcome?

Wild and Hexy is a delightful read. I loved the part about the debate class. Jeremy and Annie are a pair that match up beautifully. It is an upbeat romance in the making. I enjoyed how Jeremy was a bit nervous to go after Annie, showing a compassionate side of him. They both have been through ordeals that have hampered them in their life and together they gain strength from the other. Vicki Lewis Thompson fashions believable players that ensue great personalities in this read. I love the magic, the chemistry and the secondary characters that sprinkle a delicious seasoning on this charming romantic read.
