Journalist and Managing Editor, Navena Larimore, works tirelessly for the Detroit Dispatch. She is disappointed by an outsider stepping in and assuming the position of Editor, bypassing her years of expertise, by way of a promotion or recognition. Working life at the Detroit Dispatch takes on a new meaning as the new Editor is none other than a lover from her past.

Man of many talents, Maxwell McKnight a former NBA player, takes over the struggling Detroit Dispatch as Proprietor and Editor. Toiling his brain, breathing new life into the paper, unknown to Navena, Maxwell struggles to curb his feelings and emotions, entertaining possible regrets, wandering what life would have been like if he had not parted with Navena years earlier.

Changes are rapidly taking place. Navena discovers she has psychic powers. Her vividly frightening dreams and visions could be carrying clues to a murder. Her love for Maxwell is reawakening her once shattered heart and Luke, her boyfriend, is insisting on taking their relationship further. With Maxwell in her presence, is Navena prepared to commit to the demands of her boyfriend? The paper needs a facelift, community readership needs to be maintained and Navena needs to work closely with Maxwell, providing cover and her support. Preventative measures are needed to boost the falling staff moral. Solutions and explanations are required for her dreams and visions. Battling with challenges relating to her personal life, work and psyche, Navena needs a helping hand.

This story is interestingly diverse, cleverly covering problems associated with preventing a struggling paper from diving into trouble. Intermingling paranormal elements add mystery, suspense and intrigue. Love touchingly plays its formidable role throughout the romantic scenes. I distinctively relished rereading the descriptive weather scenes that were beautifully illustrated. Filled with plots and subplots with Navena trying to unravel mysterious dreams and events connected to her dreams to Luke revealing another side to his character and deeds makes for a suspenseful read. Strong and talented characters appealingly give pace to a wonderfully written novel.
